The German philosopher Hermann Schmitz defines as vagueness the basic perceptive condition for describing the concept of atmosphere, and the spatial model within which it can be experienced. The space of feeling - a space by definition devoid of surfaces and animated by numerous semi-entities - is able to involve the individual immediately, bodily and affective, for being characterized by intrinsic properties such as indeterminacy and impermanence.
To clarify the spatial character of feelings understood as atmosphere, Schmitz adopts the analogy with the acoustic model explaining its ability to act despite the impossibility of defining a quantifiable spatial model. Vago Spazio del Ritmo - volume 1 is the first chapter of a path dedicated to the indefinite that surrounds us and that becomes a refuge, only experienced via sensations.
12 artists have vaguely wandered among new unexplored atmospheres, pushing the boundaries that define the dimension of listening and dancefloor, paying homage to the leftfield hemisphere in a non-linear and unexpected journey that will bring us to experience the unexplored forms of our emotions.
────
I wander, I move aimlessly letting the world reach me.
For so long I spent energies for the contrary, to find, define, reach,
that now I wander, soak and flabby into space.
I am a hollow place that welcomes, that listens without any will.
I found out that in absence the form of new life exists,
covered in marvel like light that drips and lays smoothly on things.
This life reached me, a touch I didn’t awaited and that, surprisingly, pervaded me:
is a place that only exists beyond the threshold of abandonment,
behind the veil that covers the unknown and the need to fail,
to immerse ourselves in instability, in the fluid rhythm of becoming.

If you like experimental electronic music that still has an odd groove to it (this is somewhere between broken beat, drum and bass, and techno) you pretty much need this record. It's been one of my standouts of the last few years easily. If you like this, also check out AA Sudd "Pushedd" on Midgar Records which is more sleek, unbelievably sophisticated sound design in this vein. This gets my highest possible recommendation! jonarmst
